WELCOME

Welcome to my studio website. I'm Nancy McMillan, owner of Whistling Hawk Studio. In 1991, I left a corporate job at IBM to teach piano. Imagine my family's dismay! I resumed the serious study I began as a teenager, returned to school, and have never looked back. I have taught students from ages 5 to 70 and believe the world of music is a wide and welcoming one. Currently, I only take adult students. 

My goal is to support a joyful musical experience in a judgment-free environment. My 30 years of teaching experience has confirmed what I instinctively knew: learning happens best when the student is comfortable.
